3rd Grade outerspace art!





In Third grade we are learning about the Sun and the Moon. We created our own outerspace scenes with oil pastels and then painted over them with black paint to finish our cosmic creations!

Fifth Grade Native American Pottery Pumpkins


In Fifth Grade we learned about native american pottery designs. We then painted our pumpkins to look like pottery!

First Grade Healthy Art

In First Grade we learned about painter Guiseppe Archimboldo and his fantastic fruit and vegetable art. We decided to do our own tasty drawings after his unique style.






2nd Grade Matisse Cut-outs

In second grade we learned about the artist Henri Matisse and his work. We learned that Matisse lost the ability to paint later on in his life, so he cut out shapes using scissors. Here is one of his pieces called "Jazz"




6th Grade Ivory Soap Sphinx



In connection with our Egypt unit in 6th grade, the sixth graders all carved a bar of ivory soap into an Egyptian Sphinx. We learned alot about unlocking a shape out of something plain to make a sculpture!

Native American Sand Art




In Fourth Grade we are learning about Native Americans. In art class this week we learned about the sacred healing powers of Native American sand paintings. We then created our own sand paintings after the style of the Navajos.


Renee Magritte eyes





In Fifth Grade this week we learned about Surrealist Artist Renee Magritte. We looked at a bunch of his artwork and then created our own Surrealist artwork after the work of Renee Magritte. We created eyeballs and then inside of the eye we put something that might be a little surreal in nature.
