In Third grade we are learning about the Sun and the Moon. We created our own outerspace scenes with oil pastels and then painted over them with black paint to finish our cosmic creations!
In First Grade we learned about painter Guiseppe Archimboldo and his fantastic fruit and vegetable art. We decided to do our own tasty drawings after his unique style.
In connection with our Egypt unit in 6th grade, the sixth graders all carved a bar of ivory soap into an Egyptian Sphinx. We learned alot about unlocking a shape out of something plain to make a sculpture!
In Fourth Grade we are learning about Native Americans. In art class this week we learned about the sacred healing powers of Native American sand paintings. We then created our own sand paintings after the style of the Navajos.
In Fifth Grade this week we learned about Surrealist Artist Renee Magritte. We looked at a bunch of his artwork and then created our own Surrealist artwork after the work of Renee Magritte. We created eyeballs and then inside of the eye we put something that might be a little surreal in nature.
