Third grade hippos

Our third grade students learned how to draw hippos. They did a fantastic job! Hippos live in rivers such as the Nile, and we have been learning about different rivers in our social studies classes. Great job third grade!

Kindergarten Sego lilly paintings

For our first painting class in Kindergarten, our student painted some beautiful sego lilies, our state flower!

Sixth grade Egyptian art

For the Egyptian unit that our sixth grade just learned about, we did some fun Egyptian portraits on gold scratch board. Come see the bulletin board in the art room!


Great basin collard lizard paintings

Our Fourth grade students have been learning about the different environmental regions of Utah. We learned about the Great Basin collared lizard and painted it in its natural environment. Great job fourth grade!

The Scream!

In Fourth grade last week we studied a painting by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch called The Scream. We had a great time making our own versions of the scream!

Warm and cool colored hands

We are learning about heat and light in third grade, so we talked about warm and cool colors and the contrast they create. Then we made a contrasting picture using warm and cool colors. This lesson is from artprojectsforkids.org

6th grade Modigliani portraits

For our back to school self-portraits, we looked at the artist Amedeo Modigliani's work. We did our self portraits in the style of Modigliani, with elongated necks and features. We used oil pastels.
